WHAT TO DO IF YOUR STAFF IS A CROSS DRESSER?

Seriously, what to do if your staff is a cross dresser?

He does his work okay, keeps to schedules etc.

He's respectful of bosses, and makes friends easily with his peers, although the majority of his friends are female.

Always volunteers to do non-official work for the office, i.e to emcee an event.

Pleasant personality, humorous and ceria.

But occassionally, he turns up at work in a kebaya.

And lately, wearing more make-up than I do!

Well, we try to be as objective as possible, no prejudice la. Tapi udoh le awok tu koje gomen, sesekala koje jaga kaunter pulok tuuuu.... tak sesuwey langsung *isk*

I know people are more tolerant these days, but not here. Yelah, nanti hilang la pulak imej gomen yang selalu korang kutuk tu, singkat fikiran la, otak kampung la, mana boleh orang gomen tetiba jadik open-minded, kan? kan? :-P

Buat masa ni, ok ajelah because he is a good staff. But seeing as to how we are now under public scrutiny, I wonder what will happen if the Management gets a complaint from a dimwit joe about his 'sotong-ness'?

Cuma aku harap gosip pejabat tentang night-time activities mamat nih, semuenye pelesu belaka laaaa.....

Salam Jie,

Interesting question... what to do indeed?

Just trying to put things rather differently. Would it be the same if the staff is a female, and comes to work sans make-up, wearing long-sleeved shirt, trousers and neck tie? How then would you treat this staff (I think the term is pengkid)?

Are masculine females any different than effeminate males?

Just wondering, Jie... in this day and age where people talk about "gender equality" whether this kind of situations would be treated equally?

P.S. If I have a male staff wearing baju kebaya and make-up, I think I'll haul him up to read him the riot act.

Salam verse,

Well, he is slim, so he looks better than I do in a kebaya hahaha!

Salam kelana,

Workwise, it's not fair to discriminate him on his gender orientation (or is it DISorientation?). But when it affects the agency's (and gomen's) image, the management might have a different view.

I myself am in conflict. I try not to judge people, and don't mind them as friends, but we really shouldn't encourage such behaviour in our ummah, kan?

Masculine females don't create as much public ruckus, maybe because their number is small as yet. Wonder what it would be like if a masculine female falls in love with an effeminate male...?

Salam Jie,

While I agree that the number of masculine females is small comparatively speaking, I do notice that their presence in society is becoming greater. Sometimes I begin to wonder whether the person I see at the pasar malam or KFC is a teenage boy or a tomboyish girl. Only when they speak, would you have a sense of their true gender.

As for your question, as to what would happen when a masculine female falls in love with an effeminate male, I have no answer to that. I wonder if that can happen. The stereotype is that these people "usually" fall for their own gender. Again, that's stereotyping. But I have to admit, your question makes for a good plot for a story. :-)
